Former pupil Colin Rankin, (1945 - 1950), has kindly sent in these three pictures of the First X1 in 1948/1949, plus the First XV, 1950/1951 (Centre picture).
I asked Colin who the teachers were. Mr Thacker is one, and Mr Webb in the other, but who are the other two? :
"Phillip. Sorry I can't answer your question. Once you have reached eighty your mind isn't the same as it used to be at school. - Colin. (I can remember the likes of Nancy Price the Art teacher. Biddy Harris the head. Mr Richards taught Physics. Mr Williams was the history teacher. There was a young man (Mr Malclom) - he was a senior pupil when I went to the school and when I was leaving he came back from Uni and joined the staff. His younger brother was a pupil at the time.
If my mind reactivates I will let you know. - Colin."
